I just retweeted a post from the International Coach Federation announcing that December is “Write a Business Plan” month. That makes sense to me. What are your goals/plans for 2012 and how will you get there? With, at the very least, an outline of where you want your business to be in the next 12 months, you will be able to see the steps you need to take to get there. Here are a few basics to consider: 1. What is your desired net income for 2012? 2. What are your fixed expenses? 3. What are your variable expenses? 4. How many clients do you need each month to reach your net income goal and pay your expenses? 5. Do you have other streams of income and how will those help you meet your net income goal? 6. What do you really need (versus want) to purchase before December 31, 2011 for tax purposes to help your business in 2012? 7. Who might help you create a full business plan and hold you accountable for it? I recommend a business coach, coaching group or a SCORE adviser. 8. How will you balance your work and personal life in the new year? This post is just a taste of the coaching business information I will be sharing in December.
